With the past few weeks being among the busiest times of the year for marketers and business owners, you might not have noticed a number of prominent updates, platforms, and features that have recently been released. Let’s take a look.
Link Spam and Helpful Content Updates
Nearly a month after starting them, Google’s December search updates were finally wrapped up on January 12. And if you began seeing volatility in your keywords or analytics data, you are not alone. New Features Rolling Out in Google Search Console
GSC seems to be testing a new area called “Content Ideas” where they will provide opportunities for site owners based on their website data. This feature is currently in beta, as it is being slowly tested on properties in Google Search Console. You may have been chosen to test this feature, so check your email to see if you were given access.
Google Business Profiles Gets a New Competitor
If you own a local business, you are likely aware of how important having a Google Business Profile is to getting leads. Now, Apple has launched a new service to act as a competitor to this popular marketing tool. The company recently introduced Apple Business Connect, which will be a platform where you can house all your listings on Apple Maps. While it currently does not have all the features as GBP, it is safe to assume Apple has some plans in place for the local SEO space.
