Google Will Start Testing This New Rule in September
Last week, Google announced they will be releasing a new pilot program for Google Ads that will penalize accounts that repeatedly violate their policies. If accounts reach their third strike, they will face account suspension.
Eventually, Google plans to extend the pilot program by introducing additional policy violation types.
How the Three-Strikes Program Will Work
Google Ads provided this guide to how the system will apply to advertisers:
Good News – You Can Prevent Suspension
- What is not indicated in the above cycle for strikes is that you can stop your potential suspension in its tracks.
- Once you receive notice of your first or second strike, you will be asked to correct the violations and then submit a form in order to resume the ads that were in violation.
- Strikes will then expire after 90 days and your account will be considered to be back in good standing (granted no other violation occur.)
